School Concrete Sandblasting Project — Nanaimo, BC
Ocean Pacific Media Blasting was hired by On Point Construction to sandblast newly poured concrete planters and retaining walls at Wellington Elementary School.
Once the concrete forms were removed, the exposed surfaces showed uneven texture and blotchy discoloration that required correction before final project completion.
The Challenge
After form removal, the concrete finish did not meet visual or quality expectations. Inconsistent coloration and surface irregularities were visible across multiple areas, creating an uneven appearance in a highly visible school environment.
Our Solution
Our team sandblasted the concrete surfaces to remove surface inconsistencies and discoloration. This process allowed us to even out the texture and restore a clean, uniform finish across all planters and retaining walls.
Results Achieved
Corrected uneven and blotchy concrete surfaces
Achieved a consistent, uniform concrete finish
Improved overall appearance of planters and retaining walls
Prepared concrete surfaces for final project completion
Delivered clean results suitable for a school setting
