Merritt Highway Maintenance Fire
In Early August 2018, the Merritt Highway Maintenance Department VSA caught fire due to an employee leaving a fuel-soaked rag near a heat source. Heavy smoke bellowed through all 6 bay's covering the galvanized ceiling, all the drywall, metal columns and beams with a thick coating of smoke damage.
Stutters DKI, a fire and flood restoration company based in the Okanagan, awarded Ocean Pacific the project to media blast and remove all soot staining and odor. The results were impressive and reduced the overall cost of restoration significantly compared to cost of complete replacement.
